Notes

The world premiere programme has is intriguing in that the biography for Alan Ayckbourn contains the information that his play Standing Room Only had been brought for West End production as well as for television; neither of which came to pass.
The West End programme only contains essential pages relating to the actual production rather than the entire programme.
Mr Whatnot was the opening production at the new Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, Scarborough, in 1976 following the company's move from the Library Theatre. As a result, the programme contains a photograph spread showing the conversion of the former Westwood County Modern School into the new theatre.
The programme scanned here is a rare surviving example of the opening night programme which featured a gold foil 'First Night; sticker attached to the front of the regular programme.
